Abdominal and Rectal Surgery
The digestive system performs a variety of functions in different areas. If there are disturbances in one area, other areas can also be affected. Our specialists in abdominal and rectal surgery are familiar with the diseases of the digestive system and will provide expert consultations.
In this way, we cover the whole range of services in abdominal surgery. In our consultations we are therefore able to investigate and diagnose diseases of the organ system (thyroid, gastrointestinal tract with rectum, liver and gallbladder as well as pancreas) and the abdominal wall (inguinal, umbilical, diaphragmatic and postoperative hernias).
We will then discuss the findings with you and initiate treatment. We perform inpatient operations at Kantonsspital Winterthur. We carry out outpatient procedures at Fachärztezentrum Glatt. Operations can usually be done on an outpatient basis, especially for rectal diseases (haemorrhoids, sacrococcygeal fistulas, etc.), abdominal hernias and soft tissues (lipomas, atheromas, etc.).
